Nursing Science Program

Mission

The Nursing Science Program at Jinan University is committed to preparing compassionate and competent nursing professionals equipped with a strong theoretical, clinical, and ethical foundation. Through active learning and a student-centered environment, the program empowers graduates to provide culturally competent, evidence-based care and address the health needs of diverse communities, both locally and globally.

Vision

To be a leader in nursing education and practice, fostering innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement, while graduating nursing professionals who excel in improving health outcomes and transforming care delivery in diverse healthcare settings.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Graduates of the Nursing Science Program will be able to:

  1. Deliver holistic, culturally sensitive nursing care to individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan.
  2. Demonstrate ethical accountability, leadership, and professional responsibility in diverse healthcare environments.
  3. Apply evidence-based research and scientific knowledge to nursing practice to promote health and prevent illness.
  4. Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to provide safe and efficient nursing care.
  5. Advocate for community health through active engagement and reflective practices.
  6. Integrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in clinical decision-making and care planning.

Competencies

Graduates will acquire the following core competencies:

  • Clinical Proficiency: Skilled in comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and implementation across diverse medical contexts, including acute, chronic, and community care.
  • Leadership and Communication: Capable of leading healthcare teams and communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.

Requirements for Admission

To join the Nursing Science Program, applicants must:

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with a background in science recommended.
    • Or Technical Baccalaureate in Nursing (The accepted student should hold remedial courses)
  • Meet the university’s admission criteria, including academic performance, entrance examination requirements (Chemistry, Biology, and Logic) and English Proficiency Test.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in medical laboratory sciences and a commitment to pursuing a career in the field.

Program Highlights

  • Credit Requirement: 99 academic credits completed over a minimum of 3 years.
  • Language of Instruction: Tripoli campus provides the Nursing Science program in both English and French. Saida campus provides the program in English.
  • Clinical Training: Extensive, supervised clinical practice in partnership with different hospitals, Primary Healthcare Centers, and Schools.
  • Simulation Laboratory: Advanced simulation facilities to enhance practical skills, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in controlled, real-life scenarios.
  • Ladder Program: Opportunities for BT and TS degree holders to upgrade to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Continuing Education: Specialized courses for working nurses to enhance their skills and competencies.
